Eagles QB Vick may be headed to Rams By Mark J. Miller
The Philadelphia Eagles are saying that the plan is to keep Michael Vick(notes) on the payroll for the upcoming season but nobody seems to believe them. The rumor is that the team is looking for a trading partner to take the fella they'll owe more than $5 million this year off their hands.
And Vick, who seems grateful to the Eagles for giving him a chance, seems pretty ready to move on, too. He's crowing about how he wants to be a starter this year. Big words for a fella who didn't have much effect on the offense in Philly.
The rumor today being spread around, according to Fantasy Football Toolbox, is that the St. Louis Rams is "definitely" the favorite to get Vick this offseason.
Vick knows Rams GM Billy Devaney from when they were both with the Atlanta Falcons. And Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo spent years in Philly and is likely getting first-hand reports from Eagles head coach Andy Reid on whether Vick is worth dealing for or not.
